Who is Athena Keke?

Athena Keke’s is named after, well Athena Keke! She is the founders’ soccer-loving tabby cat from New Orleans. Athena Keke loves watching sports, eating cuñapes and heckling pigeons — all things you can expect to see at her namesake bar (however please be kind to the neighborhood pigeons)!

Located in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn — Athena Keke's is reimagining what a sports bar can be. Come watch women’s sports while you enjoy Bolivian-inspired food, peruse the art as you sip a martini, or take a selfie in the disco bathrooms! We’re here for good times, celebratory wins and hard losses.

About us

In 2023, the Athena Keke’s team began organizing and hosting watch parties centered around women’s sports throughout NYC while searching for a brick and mortar to call home. Over time, these watch parties became bigger and better from partnerships with local businesses, organizations, fans, leagues, brands and creators.

Big love and thanks to all those who came out to our watch parties and events in the years leading up to our grand opening! We are beyond grateful to be in this community. Special shoutout to Women’s Sports Rally, Working Families Party — Basketball House, Berry Park, Partake Sports, Snatch Mag, Fitted WNBA, Queer Flips and Gotham Roller Derby!

Athena Keke’s officially opened the doors at 222 Greene Ave. in Clinton Hill in late 2025!
